SpaceX is hiring an Electromechanical Technician to fabricate and assemble high-quality electromechanical assemblies. You'll work with mechanical drawings and controlled documentation to ensure on-time delivery and quality verification. This position requires 1+ years of experience with mechanical hand tools.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1+ years of professional or academic experience using mechanical hand tools. You are detail-oriented and capable of self-monitoring your work progress against area benchmarks to achieve on-time delivery of all tasks. Your ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, standard dimensioning and tolerancing, and GD&T is essential for this role. You are familiar with recording work performed on shop floor management systems and using email for communication.

You possess a strong understanding of quality assurance processes and can self-identify quality issues from workmanship, vendor-supplied defects, and design issues. Your experience in a fast-paced production environment, particularly with flight hardware, is a significant asset. You are eager to assist with the development of production processes for first-time production runs and contribute to area efficiency improvement projects.

Desirable

An associate degree is preferred, along with 6+ years of professional experience with wire harnesses and/or electronics equipment. Your background in a high production environment will help you thrive in this role, where you will run tests in HASS/HALT and thermal chambers.

What you'll do

As an Electromechanical Technician at SpaceX, you will fabricate and assemble high-quality electromechanical assemblies, ensuring that all work meets the required standards. You will read, interpret, and work from mechanical drawings and controlled documentation, following assembly procedures and work instructions meticulously. Your role will involve verifying flight hardware and documenting results clearly and precisely.

You will assist with the development of production processes for first-time production runs, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the production line. Additionally, you will be involved in area efficiency improvement projects, identifying opportunities for enhancement and implementing solutions. Running tests in HASS/HALT and thermal chambers will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all products meet the rigorous standards set by SpaceX.
