Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in design, manufacturing, and testing. You possess a strong engineering intuition and critical thinking skills, allowing you to navigate ambiguous requirements with minimal oversight. Your ability to collaborate with both engineers and technicians is essential for optimizing manufacturing and automation processes.
You are comfortable managing integration build flow and test operations, evaluating proposed designs for manufacturability and integration. Your experience includes developing and refining manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned, and you have a track record of enabling day-to-day execution of product integration and test flow. You are adept at evaluating non-conformances to determine root causes and create actionable items for system improvements.
What you'll do
In this role, you will manage the integration build flow and test operations for optical assemblies required for SpaceX satellites. You will interface with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automation processes, ensuring that designs are manufacturable and meet integration requirements. Your responsibilities will include developing and refining manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned from previous projects, enabling the day-to-day execution of product integration and test flow.
You will evaluate non-conformances to determine root causes and create actionable items for system improvements, working closely with upstream and downstream partner teams to drive improvements at the system level. Your role will require you to tackle new, inter-departmental development projects, demonstrating your ability to adapt and innovate in a fast-paced environment.
