SpaceX is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to provide technical expertise and implement safety programs for the construction of Cape Canaveral’s Starship spaceport infrastructure. You'll work closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Who you are
You have a strong background in environmental and occupational safety, with hands-on experience in implementing safety programs and compliance measures. Your expertise includes knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies, ensuring that safety policies are effectively communicated and adhered to across teams.
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with engineers and technicians to conduct job hazard assessments and develop health and safety policies. Your ability to monitor employee exposure to hazards and recommend remedial actions showcases your commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
You are detail-oriented and proactive, capable of developing compliance strategies that align with regulations established by agencies such as NFPA and NIOSH. Your experience in fast-paced settings allows you to adapt quickly and effectively to changing project demands.
What you'll do
As an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in the construction of the Starship spaceport infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH. You will collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
You will monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards, developing recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met. Your work will involve close collaboration with launch engineers and technician teams to perform detailed safety reviews of complex projects, ensuring that all safety measures are in place and effective.
In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with environmental regulations established by the EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, and other regulatory agencies. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest safety standards and best practices, contributing to the overall success of SpaceX's ambitious projects.
