Who you are

You are an Environmental Health & Safety Technician with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to OSHA, RCRA, EPA, and DOT. You have experience working in a technical environment and are comfortable collaborating with engineers and technicians to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety objectives. Your attention to detail and organizational skills enable you to manage hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal effectively.

You are proactive in monitoring and managing hazardous waste levels, ensuring proper labeling and storage according to classification. You have a solid understanding of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and are familiar with spill response and prevention measures. Your ability to accurately record and maintain hazardous waste logs and inspection reports is crucial to your role.

What you'll do

As an Environmental Health & Safety Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations at the Vandenberg launch facility. You will perform tasks related to hazardous waste handling, including monitoring waste levels, ensuring proper labeling, and coordinating waste shipments with the EHS supervisor and disposal contractors. You will conduct regular inspections of hazardous waste storage areas and maintain accurate records of hazardous waste logs and VOC solvent usage.

You will also be involved in spill response and prevention efforts, implementing the spill prevention countermeasures and control plan (SPCC) to mitigate risks. Your role will require you to work closely with engineers and technicians to support the launch cadence goals while meeting all environmental, health, and safety objectives. Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment at SpaceX.
