Environmental Health & Safety Technician • Entry-Level

Who you are

As an Environmental Health & Safety Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements, including OSHA, TCEQ, RCRA, EPA, and DOT. You will perform safety oversight by identifying and correcting workplace hazards and unsafe conditions, ensuring that all safety policies are implemented effectively. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

You will monitor employee exposure to job and chemical hazards, assisting in the implementation of site-specific safety policies. Your role will involve conducting job hazard analyses and personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments to ensure that all safety measures are in place. You are proactive in your approach, ensuring that any unsafe conditions are reported and corrective actions are taken promptly.

What you'll do

In this role, you will perform boots-on-the-ground safety oversight, identifying and correcting workplace hazards and unsafe conditions. You will monitor employee exposure to job and chemical hazards as regulated by OSHA permissible exposure limits, assisting in the implementation and compliance of site-specific safety policies. You will conduct department-specific safety surveys using inspection forms to ensure employees are utilizing safe work practices, such as proper PPE and minimizing trip hazards.

You will ensure that notification and corrective actions are put in place when any unsafe condition is presented or found throughout the site. Additionally, you will assist EHS engineers in accident and mishap investigations when necessary, contributing to a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
