Who you are
You have a strong mechanical aptitude and are comfortable working with both large and small, fragile assemblies. You thrive in hands-on environments and can quickly become an expert at using various mechanical tools without instruction. You understand the importance of quality and detail in your work, especially when it comes to installing spacecraft hardware. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with technicians and engineers to ensure successful operations.
You have experience maintaining and installing fluid system components from schematics or drawings, including parachutes, pistons, and pressure regulators. You are familiar with working in clean room environments and understand the protocols necessary for operations in such settings. You are adaptable and can provide support for various efforts, including fairing refurbishment and customer payload integration.
What you'll do
As an Integration Technician, you will provide daily support to the fairing team on both new production and flight-proven fairings. Your responsibilities will include the removal, repair, and installation of harnessing, thermal protective fairing skin, avionics boxes, and propulsion fluid systems. You will execute procedures for the checkout of SpaceX flight hardware and ground support equipment, ensuring that all tasks are completed with precision and care.
You will work closely with a team of technicians and engineers to develop methods for rapid and reliable processing and reuse of fairings recovered from the edge of space. Your role will involve hands-on operations, and you will be expected to maintain a high standard of quality in all your work. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of reusable rocket technology.
