Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering or a related field, with experience in operational processes and mission assurance. You are detail-oriented and have a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems, ensuring that all aspects of vehicle processing and refurbishment are optimized for reliability. You thrive in collaborative environments and can effectively communicate with various disciplines involved in launch operations.
Desirable
Experience in aerospace or a related industry is a plus, as is familiarity with launch operations and vehicle processing. You are comfortable working in high-pressure environments and have a passion for space exploration and technology.
What you'll do
As a Launch Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of launches by advocating for mission assurance at the launch site. You will partner with Flight Reliability, Launch Reliability, and Launch Operations teams to promote efficient and reliable operational processes. Your role will involve interacting with various disciplines responsible for the development and build of Falcon 9, Dragon, and Starship programs, ensuring that vehicle, payload, and spacecraft processing is designed and executed efficiently.
You will identify high-risk processes and problems during vehicle processing or refurbishment, proactively implementing improvements to ensure operational excellence. Leading root cause and corrective action investigations will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you find smart solutions to the biggest challenges faced during launches. You will maintain a feedback loop to drive continuous improvement in processes and ensure mission success as SpaceX advances towards manned spaceflight and Mars colonization.
