What you'll do
As a Material Flow Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing the flow of materials at Starbase. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing material flow strategies that support the production goals of the Starship program. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that material handling processes are efficient, safe, and cost-effective.
You will design and implement innovative strategies for material flow from receipt to the lineside, including any necessary reverse logistics. Understanding critical part flow categories will be essential as you develop specific plans to achieve significant scale in operations. You will utilize value stream mapping to ensure end-to-end process optimization, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Your role will also involve factory and warehouse layout planning, where you will create conceptual and detailed layouts that align with targeted inventory levels. You will ensure that storage strategies are consistent across the supply chain, maximizing the desired part availability while minimizing waste.
Collaboration will be key in this position, as you will partner with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive operational excellence. You will leverage your project management skills to oversee the implementation of material flow strategies and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
