Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in material flow engineering, with a strong background in analyzing and optimizing processes to enhance operational efficiency. Your expertise in lean material flow principles allows you to develop innovative strategies that align with production goals. You are skilled in data analytics and problem-solving, enabling you to tackle complex challenges effectively. Your project management skills ensure that you can lead initiatives from conception through implementation, driving significant improvements in material handling.
You understand the importance of factory and warehouse layout planning, and you have experience developing conceptual and detailed layouts that optimize material flow and storage. Your ability to use value stream mapping helps you identify areas for process improvement, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
Desirable
Experience with advanced data analytics tools and methodologies is a plus, as is familiarity with supply chain management principles. A background in aerospace or manufacturing environments will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to SpaceX's mission.
What you'll do
As a Senior Material Flow Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing the receiving, storage, movement, and presentation of materials at Starbase. You will develop and implement material flow strategies that align with Starship production goals, ensuring that all materials are handled safely and efficiently. Your role will involve using lean principles to create innovative solutions that drive operational excellence.
You will work closely with various teams to understand critical part flow categories and develop specific plans that enable Starbase to achieve significant scale. Your expertise in process design and optimization will be crucial as you design and implement strategies for efficient material flow from receipt to the lineside, including any reverse logistics required.
In addition, you will be responsible for factory and warehouse layout planning, developing conceptual and detailed layouts that achieve targeted inventory levels. You will ensure that storage strategies are aligned across the supply chain, maximizing the desired part availability while minimizing waste and inefficiencies.
