Job Description
Who you are
You have a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools, with a strong motivation to enable suppliers to succeed in a rapidly evolving environment. Your background includes practical experience in process engineering and new product development, particularly in the aerospace sector. You possess a broad understanding of aerospace consumables such as paints, adhesives, and chemicals, and are familiar with special processes like thin film coatings and chemical processing. You are eager to tackle new challenges in unfamiliar areas to help SpaceX achieve its mission of enabling human life on Mars.
What you'll do
In this role, you will act as the technical point of contact for outsourced special processes and consumables, solving emergent challenges at suppliers and mitigating risks to the manifest. You will support the Dragon and Falcon programs, ensuring that suppliers meet SpaceX's high standards for quality and performance. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with suppliers to stabilize production processes and implementing quality assurance measures to maintain the integrity of aerospace components. You will also engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier capabilities and drive innovation in materials and processes.
