Who you are
You have a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools, with a strong desire to enable suppliers to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Your experience in manufacturing engineering spans from new product development to stabilized production, particularly for machined components and assemblies used in rockets and rocket engines. You possess proven leadership capabilities and technical expertise, allowing you to act as the technical point of contact for assigned parts. You thrive on solving emergent challenges at suppliers and mitigating risks to the manufacturing process.
You have a broad understanding of the machining and assembly of metallic components, along with the associated processes. Your motivation to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas aligns with SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering premium quality in rapidly evolving designs at ambitious volumes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support the Dragon and Falcon programs by acting as the technical point of contact for assigned parts. You will solve emergent challenges at suppliers, addressing high-impact manufacturing and quality challenges to ensure the success of the supply chain. Your responsibilities will include reviewing issues on assigned parts and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that enhance manufacturing processes.
You will work closely with suppliers to ensure they meet SpaceX's high standards for quality and efficiency. Your role will involve analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to optimize production. You will also be responsible for conducting audits and assessments of supplier capabilities, ensuring compliance with SpaceX's requirements.
