What you'll do

As a Turbomachinery Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the design and development of turbopumps for the Raptor engine. Your responsibilities will include conducting aerodynamic and hydrodynamic analyses, ensuring that designs meet performance and reliability standards. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are feasible and cost-effective, while also meeting stringent weight requirements.

You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of turbomachinery components, from initial concept through testing and qualification. This includes performing mechanical analysis on all components, reviewing technical drawings, and making necessary adjustments to optimize performance. You will also engage in testing activities, analyzing results to inform design improvements and validate performance metrics.

Your role will require you to work with a diverse team of specialists, integrating various subsystems to create a cohesive turbomachinery solution. You will be expected to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any challenges that arise.
