Overview

SpaceX is hiring an Electrical Engineer specializing in Sensors for their Starship Avionics team. You'll design and develop electrical interface circuitry for sensors critical to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and experience in circuit design.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and have experience designing and testing electronic circuits. You are familiar with interfacing microcontrollers for measurement and control applications, and you have a solid understanding of the PCB assembly process. Your background includes working with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters, which you use to ensure the quality and functionality of your designs.

You have a strong foundation in circuit design and simulation, particularly for low-noise circuits used in sensor applications. Your experience includes component selection and circuit layout, allowing you to create efficient and effective designs. You are comfortable working in a highly interdisciplinary team and are eager to contribute to innovative sensing solutions that support SpaceX's ambitious goals.

Desirable

A Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred, along with 2+ years of experience in circuit design. Familiarity with advanced electronic test equipment, including network analyzers and signal generators, will set you apart as a candidate. You are also encouraged to have software development experience in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++, which will enhance your ability to contribute to the team.

What you'll do

As an Electrical Engineer on the Sensor Development team, you will design and simulate low-noise circuits for various sensors critical to SpaceX's vehicles. Your primary responsibility will be to develop electrical interface circuitry that meets the demanding requirements of space applications. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to ensure that your designs integrate seamlessly with the overall avionics systems.

You will complete board layouts and conduct electrical characterization to validate your designs. Your role will also involve testing circuits and devices to ensure they meet performance specifications. You will be expected to document your work thoroughly and communicate your findings to the team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
