Who you are
You are a motivated and proactive Electrical-optical Silicon photonics IC engineer with a strong background in developing high-speed electro-optical integrated circuits. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside world-class teams in systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, and product engineering. Your intellectual curiosity drives you to explore innovative solutions that enhance connectivity in previously underserved areas.
You possess a deep understanding of silicon engineering principles and are familiar with the challenges of deploying integrated circuits in both space and terrestrial applications. Your experience enables you to contribute effectively to the design and testing of next-generation photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and electronic integrated circuits (EICs).
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge PICs and EICs that are critical for SpaceX's Starlink project, which aims to provide fast and reliable internet globally. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that the designs meet the rigorous standards required for deployment in space and ground infrastructures. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of the Starlink system, enabling connectivity in places where it has not been available before.
You will engage in the full lifecycle of circuit design, from initial concept through to testing and validation. This includes working on the integration of these circuits into larger systems and ensuring their functionality under various conditions. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and optimizing designs to meet performance targets.
