Who you are
You have a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools, with a strong motivation to enable suppliers for success. Your background includes practical experience in manufacturing engineering and new product development through stabilized production for various fabrication processes used in rockets and rocket engines. You possess a broad understanding of component fabrication methodologies including machining, finishing, forming, welding, and inspections. Your proven leadership and technical capabilities make you an ideal candidate for this highly technical position.
You thrive in challenging environments and are eager to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas to help enable SpaceX's mission to Mars. Your ability to solve emergent challenges at suppliers and mitigate risks is crucial for the success of the Starship program. You are a strong communicator, capable of serving as the technical point of contact for assigned parts and assemblies of the rocket.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as the technical point of contact for assigned parts and assemblies of the rocket, solving emergent challenges at suppliers and mitigating risks to ensure the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with suppliers to drive improvements in manufacturing processes and quality assurance practices. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments of supplier capabilities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring that suppliers meet SpaceX's demanding quality and performance standards. You will also be involved in the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes that align with the rapid evolution of designs and ambitious production volumes required for the Starship program.
