What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Flight Termination System team, you will be responsible for the design and development of hardware that ensures the safety of the Starship during flight — this includes creating manufacturable explosive devices and robust integration designs. You will interface with regulatory partners to tailor and challenge existing space industry standards, ensuring that your designs meet the highest safety criteria. Your role will involve conducting environmental testing and overseeing the assembly of electromechanical systems, ensuring that all components function seamlessly together.

You will lead the entire development process, from initial concept through to vehicle integration — this means you will be deeply involved in every stage of the project, ensuring that your designs are not only innovative but also practical and manufacturable. You will tackle challenging problems at the intersection of safety-critical hardware and high explosives, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in aerospace engineering.
