Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in manufacturing processes and tooling design. Your experience includes working with pressurized components and systems, and you are familiar with the challenges of high-rate manufacturing. You thrive in collaborative environments, engaging with both design and build teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency in production.
You possess hands-on experience with fabrication techniques, including welding, tube bending, and pipe fitting. Your ability to design tooling and processes is complemented by your understanding of cryogenic fluids and pressurized test setups. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which allows you to tackle complex engineering challenges effectively.
What you'll do
As a Propulsion Build Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing and refining build processes that enable the rapid manufacturing of vehicle fluid systems. You will engage closely with design teams to ensure that tooling and processes are optimized for manufacturability. Your role will involve hands-on participation in the physical builds and installation of propulsion systems, requiring you to work directly with Starship and Super Heavy hardware.
You will design and implement tooling for assembly aides, welding, and part fixturing, ensuring that all components meet the necessary specifications for safety and performance. Additionally, you will oversee integration operations sequencing and collaborate with technicians to install flight-critical hardware on the vehicle.
