Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment — you've successfully led teams in high-volume production settings and understand the intricacies of factory operations. Your background includes a strong focus on preventative maintenance strategies, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.

You possess deep knowledge of troubleshooting complex manufacturing systems — your expertise spans vacuum deposition, chemical processes, and automation technologies. You are skilled in root cause analysis, allowing you to identify and resolve issues swiftly to minimize downtime.

You are a natural leader who thrives in a collaborative environment — you enjoy mentoring maintenance technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Your communication skills enable you to work effectively with production, engineering, and supply chain teams.

You are passionate about cutting-edge manufacturing technologies — your interest in sustainable practices aligns with SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars. You are driven by the challenge of optimizing factory operations to support innovative solar technologies.

Desirable

Experience in the solar or renewable energy sector would be a plus — you understand the unique challenges and opportunities in this field. Familiarity with high-volume production equipment and maintenance management software is also advantageous.

What you'll do

As the Manager of Maintenance for the Solar Cell Factory, you will create and lead a team of maintenance technicians and engineers responsible for the day-to-day operations of a high-volume 24/7 facility. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing maintenance strategies that minimize downtime and maximize equipment uptime, targeting over 95% availability for critical production lines.

You will oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex failures, ensuring that your team is equipped to handle any challenges that arise in the production process. Collaborating closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams, you will integrate maintenance schedules to align with production goals and timelines.

You will be responsible for creating a culture of safety and efficiency within the maintenance team — you will implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the team's success and ensuring that maintenance activities support the overall mission of SpaceX.
