Job Description
Who you are
You possess a solid mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience, along with a willingness and ability to learn. As a Propulsion Technician, you are responsible for the assembly and testing of rocket hardware and associated sub-assemblies. You have the flexibility to work on different systems and the ability to troubleshoot anomalies while keeping safety and quality at the forefront of everything you do.
You are comfortable performing work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions for Raptor combustion devices and thermal protection systems. You can operate machinery such as vacuum furnaces and ultrasonic immersion booths, and you are skilled in cleaning, preparing, and assembling a variety of combustion devices hardware for processes such as electron beam welding, TIG welding, or brazing. You can read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions, using precision calibrated tools like torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
What you'll do
In this role, you will perform assembly and testing of rocket hardware, ensuring that all work is completed according to established procedures and specifications. You will operate various machinery and tools, including vacuum furnaces and ultrasonic immersion booths, to prepare combustion devices for testing. You will also be responsible for cleaning and assembling hardware, utilizing techniques such as electron beam welding and TIG welding.
Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting any anomalies that arise during the assembly and testing processes, ensuring that safety and quality are prioritized at all times. You will work autonomously on defined schedules, demonstrating your ability to manage your time effectively while maintaining a high standard of work.
You will also be expected to operate forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment as needed, contributing to an efficient and effective work environment. Your role may involve blending, filing, and shearing of metal piece parts, as well as cleaning tools and valves to ensure they are ready for use.
