Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically in machining processes — you've successfully led projects that required high precision and quality in production environments. Your expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) allows you to optimize designs for seamless manufacturing and assembly, ensuring that products meet stringent quality standards.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset — you thrive on developing innovative solutions that push the boundaries of technology in the aerospace industry. Your ability to foster collaboration between engineering and production teams is key to your success, as you understand the importance of feedback loops in driving product success.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the development and expansion of in-house machining capabilities for the SpaceX Starship components team. You will ensure the delivery of high-precision, mission-critical piece parts to factory assembly lines, maintaining unwavering quality and efficiency. Conducting advanced DFM analyses on piece parts and assemblies will be a core responsibility, as you work to optimize designs for manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
You will champion innovation in production scalability, collaborating closely with downstream operations, including design, testing, and integration teams. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the manufacturing and integration processes for both current and next-generation vehicles, ensuring that SpaceX continues to push the envelope in aerospace technology.
