Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in materials engineering, particularly in metal casting processes, and possess the ability to solve complex challenges in a rapidly innovating environment. Your experience includes collaborating with supply chain and engineering teams to drive the development and production of advanced materials. You are comfortable interfacing with vendors and have hands-on responsibilities with hardware, ensuring that you can contribute effectively to the teamβs goals.
You have a proven track record of developing, qualifying, and troubleshooting metal casting processes, particularly for high-performance applications such as gas turbines. Your technical expertise allows you to provide valuable insights into material alloy and form selection, tooling, and specifications, ensuring that design efforts align with production capabilities.
What you'll do
In this role, you will partner with supply chain, vendors, and engineering teams to accelerate the development and production of SX casted components. You will be responsible for developing and qualifying metal casting processes used in production, ensuring that they meet the rigorous standards required for spaceflight applications. Your role will involve providing technical reviews and advising on design efforts related to material selection and process specifications.
You will collaborate closely with vendors to support the qualification and property development of castings and processes, driving the scaling and implementation of casted components to ground systems hardware. Your hands-on approach will be crucial in coordinating with ground engineering and vehicle teams to ensure that all components meet the necessary performance and safety standards.
