Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in mechanical engineering with practical experience in manufacturing engineering and new product development. Your comprehensive knowledge of quality tools enables you to ensure that suppliers meet the high standards required for rocket components. You possess a broad understanding of propulsion and fluid system component fabrication, including processes such as extrusions, draw forming, and welding. You are motivated by challenges and have the capability to tackle new areas to support SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as the technical point of contact for assigned parts and assemblies of the rocket. You will be responsible for solving emergent challenges at suppliers and mitigating risks to ensure that production meets SpaceX's ambitious goals. Your leadership skills will be essential as you guide suppliers through the complexities of fabrication processes. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop and implement strategies that enhance supplier performance and quality. Your role will also involve continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure that they align with SpaceX's evolving design requirements.
