Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in integration and testing processes, with experience in aerospace or similar industries. Your expertise in Python and C++ allows you to develop and refine test automation processes effectively. You are familiar with Linux environments and have a solid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, which are crucial for the Falcon 9 project. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are adept at collaborating with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and test requirements are met. Your problem-solving skills enable you to quickly address non-conformances and implement corrective actions in production settings. You are also passionate about mentoring team members, sharing your knowledge, and promoting a culture of technical excellence.
Desirable
Experience with aerospace hardware and familiarity with high-volume production environments would be advantageous. A background in developing first-of-their-kind standards and practices within the industry is a plus, as is a proactive approach to identifying and executing capital equipment upgrades to meet production demands.
What you'll do
In this role, you will oversee the build and test processes for the Falcon 9 launch vehicle, focusing on the pneumatic, hydraulic, and structural subassemblies. You will assist design engineers in guiding new designs from concepts to qualified, production-capable mechanisms. Your responsibilities will include developing, qualifying, and refining manufacturing and test processes to transition products from prototype to high-volume production. You will interface with other engineers and subject matter experts to solve large-scale production challenges, ideate and implement tooling and test solutions, and ensure high-quality builds of SpaceX hardware. Additionally, you will mentor other team members on high-level engineering tasks, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
