Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering with experience in testing hardware performance and survivability during missions. You excel in developing and executing tests at the engine and component level, ensuring that all systems meet rigorous performance standards. Your hands-on experience allows you to thrive in fast-paced environments where you embrace unexpected outcomes and adapt quickly to challenges.
You possess excellent problem-solving skills and are comfortable providing daily direction to technicians, guiding them in fabricating and integrating test articles and stand equipment. Your ability to develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, and configuration files showcases your technical expertise and attention to detail. You are familiar with operating and troubleshooting data acquisition and control systems, particularly those based on National Instruments.
What you'll do
As a Test Engineer on the Development Test team, you will be responsible for leading test campaigns that evaluate the performance of engines and components for SpaceX's Starship program. You will create detailed test plans, activate new systems, and oversee test operations to ensure that all hardware meets the necessary performance criteria. Your role will involve reviewing data and making critical decisions based on test results, contributing to the overall success of the Starship development.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design unique tests that push the boundaries of current technology. Your hands-on approach will allow you to tackle diverse engineering challenges, ensuring that SpaceX remains at the forefront of aerospace innovation. You will also play a key role in the design and fabrication of test stand equipment, ensuring that all systems are optimized for performance and reliability.
