Job Description
Who you are
You have a background in engineering with a focus on aerospace systems, and you are passionate about space exploration. You possess strong analytical skills and are adept at problem-solving, particularly in the context of testing complex systems. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with design and quality teams to ensure that all tests align with spacecraft requirements. Your attention to detail ensures that all test data is meticulously recorded and analyzed for accuracy.
You have experience in defining and developing test benches, including the design and setup of mechanical and fluidic test means. You understand the importance of qualification and acceptance testing and are familiar with aerospace standards that govern these processes. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams allows you to contribute to the successful execution of test plans.
What you'll do
As a Test Engineer – Space Systems, you will define, develop, and operate test means for the qualification and acceptance of spacecraft subsystems. You will be responsible for the entire testing process, from the initial definition of test plans to the execution and reporting of results. This includes the design and specification of test benches for non-propulsion spacecraft subsystems such as tanks, structures, and thermal protection systems.
You will collaborate with design teams to ensure that test plans cover all necessary requirements and comply with aerospace standards. Your role will involve executing functional, structural, thermal, and system-level tests, including splashdown tests, while rigorously recording data for analysis. You will also be tasked with processing test data, investigating anomalies, and preparing technical reports for internal reviews and customer deliverables.
Your daily interactions with design, assembly, integration, and testing (AIT), and quality teams will be crucial in aligning tests with spacecraft requirements and industrial processes. You will play a key role in ensuring that all testing activities contribute to the overall success of the spacecraft development program.
