Job Description

Who you are

You have 7+ years of experience in TIG welding, particularly in aerospace applications, and are proficient in working with materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminum, and titanium. You possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications. Your experience includes using precision calibrated tools like torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers, and you are capable of performing work according to detailed procedures and test instructions. You are also familiar with operating forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency in your work environment.

Desirable

You hold AWS D17.1 and D1.2 certifications, which demonstrate your expertise in welding standards. Your skills extend to tube cutting, grinding, and fabrication, particularly for small and large diameter tubes up to 6 inches. You have a proven track record of completing welds that pass visual inspections and are prepared for X-ray or dye penetrant testing. Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts is a plus, as is the ability to blend, file, and shear sheet metal piece parts.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for welding, assembling, and fabricating various fluid systems and sub-assembly components for the Starship project. You will utilize precision calibrated tools to ensure the highest quality of work and adhere to all safety and operational procedures. Reading and interpreting technical drawings will be a key part of your daily tasks, as you follow detailed work instructions to complete your assignments efficiently. You will also be expected to operate forklifts and cranes safely, contributing to a smooth workflow in the manufacturing environment.

Your role will involve performing additional related duties as assigned, ensuring that the work environment remains efficient and effective. You will collaborate with other team members to maintain high standards of quality and safety in all welding operations. Your expertise will be crucial in helping SpaceX achieve its mission of enabling human life on Mars through innovative aerospace technologies.
