Who you are
You have extensive experience in CNC programming, particularly with Esprit CAM, and are adept at generating G-Code for complex machining tasks. Your background includes working with Okuma mill-turn lathes and mills, where you've optimized multi-axis programs to enhance efficiency and precision.
You possess a strong understanding of tooling and process setup, having created and refined setup sheets for new part introductions. Your ability to troubleshoot and operate CNC machines independently minimizes downtime and ensures high-quality production.
Your analytical skills enable you to contribute to the development of a CAM database, utilizing data analysis to improve repeatability and efficiency in programming. You are proactive in addressing quality concerns, leading root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to maintain high standards.
What you'll do
As a CNC Programmer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in developing machining processes for components used in the Starship program. You will utilize your expertise in Esprit CAM to program and generate G-Code for Okuma mill-turn lathes and mills, focusing on optimizing complex, multi-axis programs.
You will be responsible for creating and refining tooling and process setup sheets for new part introductions, incorporating lessons learned from previous iterations. Your role will involve setting up, proving out, and operating programs on CNC machines, where you will troubleshoot issues independently to minimize downtime.
Additionally, you will contribute to the development and utilization of a CAM database for efficient new part programming, analyzing data to enhance repeatability. You will also review quality concerns from piece part inspections, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
