SpaceX is hiring a Welder to build structural and fluid systems for rocket vehicle testing. You'll work with various welding processes including FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW in McGregor, TX.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a skilled Welder with experience in various welding processes such as FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW. You have a strong understanding of welding materials including mild carbon steel, low alloy, stainless, aluminum, and exotics. Your ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications allows you to effectively plan welding operations. You communicate effectively with management, engineering staff, and planners to achieve build efficiency. You are committed to improving operations and streamlining work processes, ensuring a collaborative work environment.
What you'll do
As a Welder at SpaceX, you will be responsible for building structural and fluid systems that support rocket vehicle and component testing. You will collaborate with an elite team of fabricators to rapidly build and weld large assemblies. Your role will involve performing various welding processes based on business needs, ensuring that the proper weld procedure, type of material, and rod size are accurately assessed for each project. You will also check your work after completion to ensure quality and adherence to specifications. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, as you will work to decrease turnaround times and enhance operational efficiency.
