Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, with a strong focus on building scalable systems that handle high volumes of requests. Your expertise includes working with various databases and optimizing performance for real-time applications. You are comfortable with distributed systems and have a solid understanding of microservices architecture.
You possess deep knowledge of programming languages such as Go and Ruby on Rails, and you have experience with data storage solutions like Aerospike and Redis. Your familiarity with message brokers like Kafka and search engines like Elasticsearch allows you to design efficient data pipelines and optimize data retrieval processes.
You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and finding innovative solutions. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, ensures that you can translate business requirements into technical specifications effectively.
You are passionate about learning new technologies and are not afraid to experiment with cutting-edge tools to enhance system performance. Your experience with GraphQL and other modern frameworks enables you to build robust APIs that serve diverse client needs.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. You may also have experience with CI/CD practices and tools, which help streamline the development process.
What you'll do
As a Senior Backend Engineer at StackAdapt, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our AI-powered marketing platform. You will design and implement backend services that handle millions of requests per second, ensuring high availability and performance. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our real-time advertising bidding system, which processes vast amounts of data daily.
You will collaborate closely with product teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements. This involves participating in design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning sessions to ensure that our systems are scalable and maintainable.
You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and best practices to help them grow in their roles. Your contributions will help foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Your analytical skills will be essential in identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance system efficiency.
