Who you are
You have a strong background in commercial law with a focus on the fintech sector, ideally with 5+ years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise includes leading negotiations and advising on a wide range of commercial and legal issues, particularly in the payments and cryptocurrency space. You are familiar with regulatory frameworks and have a working knowledge of data protection and privacy regimes such as CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA. You thrive in high-growth environments and have prior in-house experience advising technology companies. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product Legal, and external counsel, is essential for success in this role.
Desirable
Experience with AI technology and LLM tools to improve legal processes is a plus. Familiarity with Stripeβs product offerings, particularly in crypto and stablecoin, will help you navigate the complexities of this role effectively.
What you'll do
As a Commercial Counsel at Stripe, you will lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations, ensuring that all agreements align with Stripe's mission and compliance requirements. You will work closely with the Sales team, particularly focusing on the Stablecoin & Crypto team, to provide legal guidance on product launches and operational infrastructure. Your role will involve advising on a wide range of legal issues that arise in the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency and payments. You will also collaborate with various internal teams to enable safe and compliant growth of Stripe's offerings, ensuring that all legal aspects are thoroughly addressed. Your insights will help shape the legal strategy as Stripe expands its footprint in the crypto market.
