Overview
Stripe is hiring a Senior Security Engineer for their Bridge team to design and implement a robust security roadmap. You'll work with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to tackle security risks in a fast-paced fintech environment. This role requires 8+ years of experience in security engineering.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 8+ years of experience in security engineering, ideally with time spent in fast-paced startup environments where you've built security programs from the ground up. Your expertise includes designing security roadmaps and implementing them effectively in production environments. You communicate clearly across technical and non-technical partners, ensuring that security practices are understood and adopted by all stakeholders. You are excited about the potential of crypto and stablecoins to power global financial infrastructure, demonstrating curiosity and openness to learn about emerging technologies.
Desirable
Experience building or scaling security programs, either at a startup or in an embedded role, is a plus. You have a strong understanding of compliance and audit expectations, especially as they relate to regulated markets. Your ability to lead threat modeling and hardening efforts for money movement systems showcases your proactive approach to security.
What you'll do
As a Senior Security Engineer at Stripe, you will design and implement Bridge's security roadmap from first principles to production. You will identify and tackle Bridge's most important security risks quickly and pragmatically, integrating with Stripe's infrastructure where it makes sense and finding custom solutions where it doesn't. You will lead threat modeling and hardening efforts for Bridge's money movement systems in collaboration with crypto and infrastructure teams. Building key security capabilities such as monitoring, secrets management, incident response, and access controls will be part of your responsibilities. You will reinforce engineering best practices around secure development and infrastructure, ensuring that Bridge meets compliance and audit expectations as it scales to more regulated markets. Collaboration across engineering, product, and Stripe's security organization will be essential to move fast without compromising safety.
What we offer
At Stripe, you will have the opportunity to work in a startup-like environment backed by one of the most trusted names in fintech. You will be part of a team that is product-obsessed and focused on innovation in the fintech space. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in building a modern, stablecoin-powered cross-border payments network that has the potential to transform global financial infrastructure.
