Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly with a focus on data systems and applications. Your background includes designing and developing data pipelines that support business-critical operations, and you are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability. You are excited about leveraging data to drive business insights and improve user experiences, and you have a strong understanding of data management principles.
You possess deep expertise in technologies such as MongoDB and Apache Pinot, and you are familiar with building, deploying, and optimizing machine learning models. Your experience includes working with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn, and you understand how to integrate these models into data pipelines for enhanced business insights. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and finding innovative solutions.
You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable working with various stakeholders, including sales and marketing teams, to understand their data needs and deliver effective solutions. Desirable

What you'll do
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Company Universe team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing robust data pipelines and applications that empower Stripe's Growth, Sales, and Marketing teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely data delivery, enabling informed decision-making across the organization. Your work will involve architecting scalable data solutions that can handle large volumes of data while maintaining performance and reliability.
You will be responsible for implementing best practices in data management and engineering, ensuring that data quality and integrity are upheld throughout the data lifecycle. This includes developing and maintaining documentation for data processes and systems, as well as conducting regular audits to identify and resolve any data issues.
In addition to data pipeline development, you will also work on integrating machine learning models into applications to provide enhanced insights and predictions. This will involve collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand their requirements and translating them into technical specifications for implementation.
