Who you are
You have a Ph.D. in a quantitative field and extensive experience in bioinformatics, particularly in the context of cancer genomics. Your background includes a strong focus on translational cancer research, and you are well-versed in scientific programming and algorithms development. You understand the clinical regulatory requirements for software systems and have experience with statistical modeling. Your leadership experience includes guiding interdisciplinary teams in developing next-generation sequencing (NGS) pipelines in clinical settings.
You are passionate about making a difference in the world of cancer genomics and have a proven track record of translating complex research into clinically actionable insights. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with scientists, clinicians, and product leadership. You are detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality documentation for all projects.
What you'll do
As the Director of Bioinformatics, you will design and oversee the development of diagnostic software systems for Tempus medical devices. You will prepare and coordinate technical design and requirements analysis for software systems, ensuring compliance with clinical regulations. Collaborating with scientists and clinicians, you will lead the design of diagnostic tests in a regulated environment, translating research findings into practical applications for our clients.
You will lead an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation in the development of algorithms that analyze next-generation sequencing data. Your role will involve communicating with external scientific teams and internal product and bioinformatics leadership to align on project goals and deliverables. You will also be responsible for producing detailed documentation for all projects, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards.
