Job Description
Who you are
You are a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in histotechnology, ideally holding an HT or HTL certification. You possess an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree and have familiarity with laboratory equipment such as Leica instruments and microtomes. Your approach to work is meticulous, ensuring that safety and quality standards are consistently met. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with pathologists and other lab team members to achieve daily goals. You are comfortable performing routine workflows independently and are eager to assist in developing standard operating procedures for new instruments and products.
Desirable
Experience with automated IHC staining instruments from both Leica and Roche is a plus. You have a keen interest in precision medicine and are motivated by the impact of your work on patient care. Your ability to cut frozen sections using a cryostat is an added advantage, showcasing your versatility in the lab.
What you'll do
In this role, you will prepare both unstained and routine hematoxylin and eosin stained slides from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks. You will maintain laboratory equipment and ensure that records are kept up to date, demonstrating your commitment to operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include reliably producing quality finished products and collaborating with the Tempus Labs team to meet daily cutting and staining deadlines. You will also track your work using a custom Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring that all processes are documented accurately. Additionally, you will assist in the development of standard operating procedures for new instruments and products, contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices.
