Job Description
Who you are
You hold an HT or HTL Certification and have an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, demonstrating your foundational knowledge in histotechnology. Your familiarity with Leica equipment and manual microtomes, along with experience using both Leica and Roche automated IHC staining instruments, sets you apart in the field. You possess a solid understanding of CAP regulations and have experience with pathology laboratory SOPs and protocols, ensuring compliance and quality in your work. Your problem-solving skills shine in the laboratory, allowing you to tackle challenges effectively while maintaining a focus on safety and diligence. Good communication and organizational skills are essential to your success, enabling you to collaborate effectively with team members.
What you'll do
In this role, you will prepare both unstained and routine hematoxylin and eosin stained slides from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks, ensuring high-quality results. You will maintain laboratory equipment and regularly record maintenance, contributing to the overall efficiency of the lab. Your ability to perform routine workflows without specific guidance will be crucial as you reliably produce quality finished products. You will assist in developing standard operating procedures for new instruments and products, collaborating closely with other members of the Tempus Labs team. Utilizing your skills with microtomes, water baths, automated stainers, automated coverslippers, tissue processors, and embedding centers, you will work collaboratively with in-house pathologists for slide quality review. Additionally, you will track your work using a custom Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring accurate documentation of your contributions.
