Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Automation, Biology, or a related discipline, with a Master’s being a plus. With a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a physical automation or adjacent role, you are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working autonomously. Your experience developing methods on liquid handling equipment, particularly with Tecan, sets you apart as a strong candidate.

You thrive in collaborative environments and are adept at communicating clearly with laboratory staff to understand their needs. Your investigative skills allow you to identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions effectively. You are familiar with protocols and methodologies that enhance lab efficiency and robustness.

What you'll do

In this role, you will function as part of the lab Process Engineering and Automation group, focusing on the innovation, development, validation, and implementation of new methodologies. You will design and implement new processes while improving existing ones, ensuring that they are robust and efficient. Your responsibilities will include developing bespoke protocols for Tecan liquid handlers using Tecan FluentControl and other lab automation equipment in collaboration with R&D staff.

You will perform experimentation to test and validate new methodologies, investigating non-conformances through root cause analysis (RCA) and DMAIC. Your role will also involve ensuring successful technology transfer via process engineering input throughout the design process for requirements and performance qualification (PQ) testing. You will identify areas that are error-prone and research innovative approaches for practical prevention, utilizing available resources such as 3D printers and electronics tools to develop novel solutions.
