Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Automation, Biology, or a related discipline, with a Masterβs being a plus. You bring at least 3 years of experience in a physical automation or adjacent role, showcasing your ability to develop methods on liquid handling equipment, particularly with Tecan. You are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working autonomously, ensuring that you can thrive in a collaborative environment.
Your experience includes developing bespoke protocols or methods for Tecan liquid handlers, and you are familiar with Tecan FluentControl and other lab automation equipment. You have a strong understanding of the importance of communication with laboratory staff, allowing you to fully grasp the needs of various procedures. You are proactive in identifying error-prone areas and researching innovative approaches for practical prevention.
What you'll do
In this role, you will function as part of a highly collaborative and autonomous team, focusing on designing and implementing new processes while improving existing ones. You will develop bespoke protocols for Tecan liquid handlers, working closely with R&D staff to ensure successful technology transfer and process engineering input throughout the design process. Your responsibilities will include performing experimentation to test and validate new methodologies, as well as investigating non-conformances through root cause analysis (RCA) and DMAIC, recommending corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
You will ensure that all processes are robust and efficient, contributing to the overall innovation within the lab Process Engineering and Automation group. Access to 3D printers, electronics tools, and other resources will be available to aid in developing novel solutions where appropriate. Your role will also involve communicating clearly with laboratory staff to understand protocols and procedures, ensuring that you can effectively contribute to the teamβs goals.
