Job Description

Who you are

You are an experienced product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create user-centered designs. You have a keen eye for detail and exceptional taste, allowing you to craft high-quality work that resonates with users. Your background includes designing complex ecosystems that cater to diverse user needs, particularly in the energy or utilities sector. You thrive in early-stage startup environments, where you can take ownership of design direction and contribute to the overall product vision. Your familiarity with frontend technologies like React, HTML, and CSS enables you to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. You are passionate about creating data-dense interfaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, ensuring that users can navigate complex information with ease.

Desirable

Experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure software is a plus, as it allows you to understand the unique challenges and opportunities in this field. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing requirements while maintaining a focus on user experience. Your ability to communicate design concepts clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams will be essential in this role.

What you'll do

As the Product Design Lead at Texture, you will be responsible for shaping the design of an entire ecosystem of interconnected surfaces for various users. You will design dashboards and analytics tools that provide real-time operational views and performance metrics, ensuring that users have access to critical information at their fingertips. Your work will include creating geographic visualizations of device fleets and grid topology, enabling users to understand their environment better. You will also design enterprise tools that facilitate complex workflows for operators managing incidents and dispatching commands, ensuring that these tools are intuitive and efficient.

In addition to enterprise tools, you will create consumer experiences that simplify technical complexities, such as enrollment flows and device connections. Your focus on service design will help you craft end-to-end journeys that enhance user satisfaction across different roles and touchpoints. You will also explore real-time collaboration features, such as live cursors and multiplayer editing, to foster teamwork and enhance productivity.

Your role will require you to work closely with engineering teams to ensure that your designs are feasible and align with technical constraints. You will participate in user research and testing to gather feedback and iterate on your designs, ensuring that they meet user needs and expectations. As the first dedicated product designer at Texture, you will have the opportunity to influence the design culture and establish best practices within the team.
