Who you are

You have a strong background in propulsion engineering, ideally with experience in assembly, integration, and testing of propulsion systems. Your ability to manage the preparation of equipment for integration and functional tests is crucial, especially for the Propulsion Qualification Model (PQM) and Flight Model (FM). You are skilled in procuring tools and organizing test setups, ensuring that procedures and schedules are meticulously prepared. Working closely with design teams, you understand the importance of designing for manufacturability and ease of integration.

You have hands-on experience running assembly and integration operations, leading a small team to execute functional tests of components, including internal thermal vacuum tests, pressure tests, and characterization tests. Your attention to detail allows you to integrate thrusters and propulsion engines effectively, ensuring all instrumentation is correctly set up on the capsule. You are committed to supporting AIT operations and executing tests while documenting procedures and writing concise reports post-testing. Continuous improvement is part of your ethos, as you define lessons learned from each project.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the integration and testing of propulsion systems for the Nyx Capsule. You will prepare and execute functional tests for various propulsion components, ensuring that all equipment meets the required specifications. Collaborating with the design team, you will contribute to the design of ground support equipment (FGSE) that facilitates seamless integration and testing processes. Your role will involve running assembly operations and leading a small team to ensure that tests are conducted efficiently and effectively.

You will also be tasked with writing detailed procedures and reports following tests, capturing critical data and insights that contribute to the continuous improvement of processes. Your ability to manage schedules and coordinate with various teams will be essential in ensuring that projects stay on track. As a Senior AIT Propulsion Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful development and operation of the Nyx vehicle, contributing to the future of space exploration.
