Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong technical background in spacecraft chemical propulsion, with extensive experience in design, testing, verification, and validation of propulsion systems. Your systems-level understanding allows you to interface effectively across engineering, AIT, and operations teams, ensuring that all aspects of the propulsion system are aligned and optimized for performance.

You possess excellent leadership skills, enabling you to provide senior technical guidance for the design justification and layout optimization of propulsion systems. Your ability to collaborate with various teams, including structures, thermal, avionics, GNC, and safety, ensures that cross-domain requirements are consistently met.

Your experience includes supporting the validation of propulsion system architecture and functional chains, as well as developing control strategies that enhance system performance. You are familiar with FMEA/FMECA activities and can coordinate effectively with system engineering and safety teams to mitigate risks.

You have a proven track record in defining, modeling, and validating propulsion FDIR strategies, contributing to the preparation of AIT procedures for both the Propulsion Qualification Model (PQM) and the Flight Model (FM). Your leadership extends to overseeing assembly, integration, and testing processes, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and testing of the MON/MMH propulsion system for the Nyx orbital vehicle. You will interface with various engineering teams to ensure that the propulsion system meets all operational requirements and performance standards. Your responsibilities will include defining functional tests, leak tests, and dry-run operations, as well as leading hazardous and propellant-related operations.

You will support the VnV process of the propulsion system, ensuring that all components are rigorously tested and validated before deployment. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the team through complex technical challenges, and you will play a key role in the successful integration of the propulsion system into the Nyx vehicle.

You will also contribute to the development of mission strategies, ensuring that the propulsion system is optimized for various operational scenarios. Your leadership will help foster a collaborative environment where innovation and technical excellence are prioritized.
