Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in AIT operations, ideally within the aerospace or engineering sectors — your background includes coordinating complex projects and managing cross-functional teams effectively. You possess strong leadership skills, enabling you to guide a small team of Logistics Engineers in both Munich and Bordeaux, ensuring that all AIT activities are executed smoothly and efficiently.

Your expertise in schedule management is crucial — you understand the importance of maintaining timelines for assembly, integration, and testing activities, and you excel at task allocation to meet deadlines. You are a proactive communicator, capable of fostering collaboration among mechanical, electrical, propulsion, and thermal teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.

You are detail-oriented and meticulous in your approach to task preparation — you ensure that all necessary hardware, procedures, and tools are verified and ready for use before any AIT operations commence. Your ability to interface with project management, design, quality, and logistics departments is key to maintaining effective coordination across the organization.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry or with space vehicles would be a significant advantage, as would familiarity with AIT processes and standards. A background in mechanical or electrical engineering could also enhance your ability to understand the technical aspects of the role.

What you'll do

In your role as MAIT Operations Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating AIT activities for the Nyx-Earth project. This includes planning and executing operations for both Qualification and Flight Models, ensuring that all activities are synchronized across various technical teams. You will lead daily and weekly coordination meetings, facilitating discussions that drive project progress and address any challenges that arise.

You will manage the AIT schedule, ensuring that all assembly, integration, and testing activities are on track. Your leadership will guide a small team of Logistics Engineers, helping them to navigate their responsibilities and contribute effectively to the project. You will also play a critical role in preparing for AIT activities, supervising the verification of hardware and tools to ensure readiness.

Collaboration is at the heart of your role — you will interface with multiple departments, including project management, design, and quality assurance, to maintain a cohesive approach to AIT operations. Your ability to foster proactive communication and collaboration will be essential in driving the success of the Nyx-Earth project.
