Who you are

You have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in radiation effects on electronic systems. Your experience includes programming in C for microcontrollers, ensuring compliance with space quality standards, and verifying VHDL code for FPGA designs. You are familiar with the challenges of designing for space environments and have a proactive approach to suggesting mitigations for radiation effects. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with systems engineers to implement optimal test setups for radiation testing. Your analytical skills allow you to assess existing code and design modifications effectively, ensuring reliability in high-stakes environments.

What you'll do

In your role as a Radiation Engineer for Space Electronics, you will be responsible for writing and verifying C code for microcontrollers, ensuring it meets the rigorous standards required for space applications. You will also verify VHDL code to validate the necessary functions in FPGAs, modifying it as needed for radiation testing. Collaborating with the design team, you will provide insights into analog and digital circuit board designs, suggesting improvements to enhance reliability against radiation effects. You will develop test setups for the radiation qualification of engineering models, ensuring that all systems are thoroughly tested before flight. Your day-to-day tasks will involve close collaboration with systems engineers to understand system functionalities and implement effective testing strategies. You will continuously evolve in this role, adapting to new challenges and contributing to the success of the Nyx space vehicle.
