The Exploration Company is hiring a Senior Materials and Processes Engineer to support the development of the Nyx space orbital vehicle. You'll work with materials and processes expertise, including cleanliness and contamination control, welding, and additive manufacturing. Who you are

You are a Senior Materials and Processes Engineer with a strong background in materials science and engineering. You have experience in cleanliness and contamination control, welding, composites, and additive manufacturing, which are crucial for the design and manufacturing of spaceflight hardware. Your expertise allows you to perform trade studies for technical solutions related to materials and processes, ensuring that the highest standards are met for both Earth and Moon missions.

You have a proven track record of defining and maintaining materials and processes requirements, and you are skilled at supporting reviews of design documentation to ensure compliance with ESA and NASA standards. Your ability to assess supplier processes and provide recommendations for qualification and acceptance testing is a key asset in your role. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with subsystem teams to ensure efficient design for manufacturing.

What you'll do

In your role as a Senior Materials and Processes Engineer, you will perform trade studies for technical solutions related to materials and processes, including make/buy recommendations for propulsion systems. You will define, maintain, and close the materials and processes requirements for various missions, ensuring that all specifications meet the necessary standards. Your responsibilities will include supporting reviews at all levels of design documentation and specifications, assessing supplier processes, and providing recommendations for improvements.

You will also define and qualify in-house inspection and manufacturing processes, collaborating with subsystem teams and future projects to ensure efficient design for manufacturing. Your expertise will be critical in the development and operation of the Nyx spacecraft, contributing to the mission of advancing space exploration. You will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and excellence in engineering.
