Job Description
Who you are
You have a background in mechanical engineering with experience in the design and integration of mechanical systems — your expertise allows you to prepare, execute, and manage mechanical integration and tests effectively. You are proficient in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and SolidWorks, enabling you to create detailed designs and drawings for manufacturing.
You possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to perform calculations and stress analyses to ensure safety margins for mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE). Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams ensures that you can support test activities both in-house and at partner facilities.
What you'll do
As a MAIT Mechanisms and MGSE CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the MGSEs required for various assembly phases of the Nyx spacecraft. You will deliver necessary CAD models and drawings to facilitate the manufacturing process. Your role will involve managing the procurement of these MGSEs in collaboration with the supply chain team, ensuring that all components meet the required specifications.
You will also oversee the assembly, integration, and commissioning of the MGSEs, ensuring that all operations are executed smoothly and efficiently. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the successful assembly and testing of the Nyx mechanisms, playing a key role in the mission of The Exploration Company.
