Who you are
You have a strong background in composite CAD design, with experience in building and maturing CAD models of composite structures and sub-systems using Siemens NX. Your expertise includes layup definition and ply book creation, ensuring optimal performance and manufacturability of designs. You are familiar with metallic CAD modeling and understand the integration of metallic parts with composite structures to ensure compatibility within the overall vehicle architecture.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with manufacturing and process engineers to ensure that designs are not only innovative but also cost-effective and meet quality standards. Your knowledge of material and process selection allows you to propose effective layup sequences and manufacturing processes that align with mission requirements. You are detail-oriented and committed to compliance with industry standards and best practices.
What you'll do
As a Composite CAD Design Engineer, you will drive the design, modeling, and integration of composite parts and assemblies for the Nyx spacecraft. You will be a key contributor to the definition and maturation of the vehicle’s composite architecture, from concept to detailed design and industrialization. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all components meet the necessary performance and manufacturability criteria.
You will support the design and integration of metallic parts, ensuring their compatibility with composite structures. Your responsibilities will include proposing manufacturing processes and tolerances, as well as collaborating with engineers to ensure that all designs are producible and meet quality standards. You will play a crucial role in the development of innovative solutions that enhance the performance of the spacecraft.
