Overview
TripActions is seeking a Senior Travel Payments Consultant to lead strategic advisory sessions with clients and design payment architectures. You'll work closely with CFOs and CTOs to optimize payment solutions while ensuring compliance with international tax regulations. This role requires 5+ years of experience in travel-related payment systems.
Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of experience in processing and reconciling travel-related payment systems — you've guided clients through complex payment architectures and understand the nuances of international tax compliance. Your expertise allows you to walk into a boardroom and effectively communicate the impact of payment solutions on financial operations.
You possess a strong understanding of payment gateways and e-invoicing systems — your ability to design end-to-end flows ensures that clients can maintain a frictionless user experience while adhering to legal requirements. Your experience with Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) equips you to educate clients on transitioning from manual invoicing to automated fiscal reporting.
You are skilled in vendor selection and orchestration — acting as a neutral advisor, you help clients choose the right mix of Payment Service Providers (PSPs), Tax Engines, and Middleware tailored to their geographic needs. Your oversight ensures that the final solutions align with local fiscal regulations.
Your communication skills are exceptional — you can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical delivery teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the implementation process. You thrive in customer-facing roles and enjoy building relationships with clients.
Desirable
You have additional experience with VAT and other indirect taxes related to travel services — this knowledge enhances your ability to validate tax treatment on supplier invoices and support tax reporting or recovery processes. Your familiarity with the travel industry gives you insights that are invaluable to your clients.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead discovery workshops with client CFOs and CTOs to audit their current payment stacks — your goal is to identify opportunities for efficiencies and optimization that can significantly impact their financial operations. You will design comprehensive payment architectures that integrate seamlessly with e-invoicing systems, ensuring compliance without compromising user experience.
You will create a Tax & Compliance Roadmap for clients, educating them on the implications of Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) — your guidance will help them transition from manual invoicing to automated, real-time fiscal reporting, streamlining their processes and reducing compliance risks.
As a neutral advisor, you will assist clients in selecting the right mix of PSPs, Tax Engines, and Middleware — your expertise will ensure that they have the tools necessary to support their specific geographic footprint effectively. You will oversee the implementation process, ensuring that the final solutions meet local fiscal requirements and align with the clients' business objectives.
You will provide ongoing support and guidance to travelers and internal teams regarding payment processes and policies — your role is crucial in ensuring adherence to company policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements. You will also monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
What we offer
At TripActions, we offer a collaborative and innovative work environment where your contributions will directly impact our clients' success. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals who are passionate about transforming the travel payments landscape. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your unique perspective could be the key to our continued success.
