Job Description

Who you are

You have 5 to 10 years of experience in modeling and simulation within the aerospace or defense industries — your background equips you to tackle complex problems and deliver reliable software solutions. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, and you meet the qualifications to be granted a SECRET clearance, with an active clearance being a plus. Your technical skills include proficiency in C, C++, and MATLAB, which you have used to develop algorithms and applications in astronautics and related fields.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, integrating with teams to support software engineering responsibilities. Your experience includes designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging mod-sim application software and systems. You are a U.S. citizen, which is a requirement for this role, and you understand the importance of compliance with ITAR regulations in your work.

Desirable

Having an active SECRET clearance that was adjudicated within the last five years is ideal, as it allows you to work on sensitive projects. Experience in conducting modeling and simulation for secure space systems will set you apart, as will familiarity with the specific challenges and requirements of the aerospace sector.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and develop key algorithms that support astronautics and aerospace applications. You will architect models to facilitate mod-sim application workflows and requirements, ensuring that your designs meet the high standards expected in the industry. Your responsibilities will include utilizing relevant tools to respond to analysis tasks on key space systems, integrating your work within a team environment to enhance overall software engineering efforts.

You will be expected to travel to client locations as required, which may include trips to El Segundo. Your role will involve close collaboration with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the software you develop meets the needs of our clients, which range from commercial companies to large defense contractors. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes, ensuring that we deliver high-quality solutions that our customers can rely upon.

What we offer

At Turion Space, we offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $180,000, depending on your experience and qualifications. You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, allowing for flexibility in your work location while still engaging with your team and clients.
