Overview

SpaceX is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer for the Starship project to oversee the avionics systems throughout all stages of integration. You'll work on electrical design, troubleshooting, and vehicle operations. This role requires expertise in avionics and electrical systems.

Who you are

You have a strong background in avionics systems engineering, with experience in electrical design and troubleshooting. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on quality and safety. Your technical skills include a deep understanding of avionics subsystems, including power distribution, vehicle networks, onboard sensors, and RF systems. You thrive in collaborative settings and can effectively communicate with cross-functional teams to drive projects forward. You are detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, allowing you to quickly identify and resolve issues as they arise.

Desirable

Experience with spacecraft systems or aerospace engineering is a plus. Familiarity with production schedules and the ability to work under pressure will help you succeed in this role. A passion for space exploration and a commitment to the mission of SpaceX will set you apart.

What you'll do

As an Avionics Systems Engineer, you will represent the avionics system throughout all stages of integration, from production and testing to launch. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical hardware issues on an aggressive production schedule, ensuring that all systems are operational and ready for flight. Your role will involve driving future improvements to minimize issues and enhance system performance. You will support vehicle pad and flight operations as an avionics operator, evaluating vehicle health and resolving issues in real-time. Collaboration with adjacent teams will be essential as you contribute to the development of new avionics vehicle architectures that minimize mass, cost, and labor.
