Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering leadership, with experience managing teams that develop complex health data platforms. Your expertise includes working with both first-line managers and individual contributors, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality products that meet customer needs. You are comfortable with large-scale data management and have a keen understanding of the life sciences industry, particularly in delivering HIPAA compliant solutions.

You possess deep technical knowledge in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and are familiar with programming languages such as Java and Rust. Your experience with data processing frameworks like Spark allows you to effectively lead teams in building scalable solutions that handle billions of rows of transactional data. You are also excited about the future of AI and how it can enhance workflows and customer experiences.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Director for Veeva Compass, you will lead a diverse team focused on developing a full product line of health data products. You will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to ensure that your products are not only functional but also innovative and user-friendly. Your role will involve overseeing platform engineering, front-end engineering, and quality assurance, ensuring that all aspects of product development are aligned with company goals.

You will be responsible for scaling the engineering team and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. This includes conducting regular one-on-ones with team members, providing mentorship, and facilitating professional development opportunities. You will also play a key role in strategic planning, helping to define the technical direction of the product line and ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of the life sciences industry.
