Who you are

You have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating in a team trading NSE, BSE, or MCX, and possess a good understanding of India exchange operations, including the automation of circular operations. Your excellent working knowledge of Linux environments allows you to solve complex technical problems effectively. You are competent in at least one programming language, preferably Python or Bash, and can remain cool under pressure in high-stress, time-sensitive environments. Your strong academic record and technical agility reflect your interest in innovative technologies and the financial markets.

Desirable

Experience working with financial systems or knowledge of the world financial marketplace is always a plus. Familiarity with the SEBI regulatory environment will enhance your ability to navigate the complexities of the role. You also have experience with configuration management platforms like Ansible, Puppet, or Salt, and a solid understanding of networking, both TCP and UDP.

What you'll do

As a Core Operations Engineer at Virtu Financial, you will be part of a small, fast-paced global team dedicated to managing the deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of a sophisticated electronic trading system. You will be the first point of contact for all external trading connections, performing a dynamic mix of functions that includes counterparty support, risk management, and system triage/optimization. Your role will require you to work closely with traders and exchanges to understand micro-market structures, ensuring that the technology interacts seamlessly with the financial markets.

You will be responsible for solving complex technical problems in a Linux environment, leveraging your programming skills to enhance system performance and reliability. Your ability to react decisively and quickly in time-sensitive situations will be crucial as you support the trading operations. You will also engage in continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the trading system.
